Top Station

The highest point on the Munnar-Kodaikanal road. Travellers to Munnar make it a point to visit Top Station to enjoy the spectacular panoramic view it offers of the plains below in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. It is also one of the spots in Munnar to view the blooming of vast stretches of 'Neelakurinji' flowers once every twelve years.

Eravikulam National Park

Among the most bio diverse regions of India, Eravikulam National Park is 54 kms from Kanthalloore. Spread over 97 sqkm along the Western Ghats in Idukki district of Kerala. Eravikulam denotes a beautiful series of pools and streams. Home to the Nilgiri Tahr (varayadu) (Hemitragashylocres), the park along with the neighbouring Chinnar and Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuaries, is amongst the largest conservation areas in Western Ghats. The park attracts over 2 lakh visitors every year.

Mattupetty Dam & Lake

Mattupetty Dam is situated at an altitude of of 1700m above the sea level and very famous for its Indo-Swiss live stock projects, approximately 26 km from Kanthalloore. Nature offers its best with sights to relish at this well known tourist spot. A lake close by with rolling grasslands and tea plantations around, has a fleet of row boats, speed boats and pedal boats available for tourists and enjoy a view of the cattle sheds while they ride in the lake. There are around hundred ranges of high yielding cattle nurtured here. Trekkers would love the rivulets and cascades that crisscross the terrain here. A variety of birds can be found which adds to the attraction of this hill station.

Echo Point

This scenic place gets its name from the natural echo phenomenon here. Echo Point is on the way to Top Station from Munnar.

Lakkam Waterfalls

A great spot for photography, the waterfalls drop near the Vagavurai Estate, on the way to Marayoor from Munnar amidst wilderness. The adjoining Vagavurai valley is named due to the abundance of 'Vaga' trees. When the trees are in full bloom the whole of Vagavurai valley is seen covered in bright red.

Munnar Tea Museum

Situated in a tea plantation, the Tea Museum showcases photographs and machinery used in the production of tea from the colonial era when the tea plantations were first established in the hills around Munnar. The historical exhibits showcase the transition of production with rudimentary tea rollers to the machinery used in an automated tea factory today. They also include a sundial made in 1913, a 'Pelton Wheel' used in the generation of electricity in the 1920's and a wheel from an engine of the Kundale Valley Light Railway that transported packaged tea to the plains below. A demonstration room for tea tasting is another attraction where visitors get to taste some very exotic varieties of tea.

Kundala Lake

A trip to Pothanmedu is worth the views that nature lovers would cherish, spectacular sunrises and sunsets framing the Munthirapuzha River, a perpetual breeze that threaten to blow one off the peak, speculative birds in the sky over lush tea, coffee and cardamom plantations.

Attukal Waterfalls

The waterfall is created after a stream travels on an elongated journey that traverses numerous slopes, dense stretches of vegetation, drops from enormous heights, eventually becoming visible, a vision of beauty displaying itself to visitors, the compelling power of nature's beauty. Anayirangal Dam
